  • Carrie Haubner

    Carrie Haubner, Psy.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist

    Director

    2008, Chicago School of Professional Psychology

    Carrie joined Student Counseling Services in 2011. Prior to becoming a staff member at SCS, she worked at several other university counseling centers around the Midwest. She obtained both her Master’s degree and Doctorate from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Some of Carrie’s clinical interests include mood and anxiety disorders, body image concerns, trauma, identity development, and training and supervising developing professionals. Her approach to therapy is integrative and incorporates interpersonal, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, developmental theories, and multicultural lenses. Away from work, Carrie enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, entertaining, and being active outdoors

  • David F. Adams

    David F. Adams, Ph.D, Licensed Clinical Psychologist

    Associate Director of Clinical Services

    2014, Counseling Psychology, Ball State University

    David joined Student Counseling Services in the Fall of 2017. He earned his doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Ball State University's APA-accredited psychology program, with an emphasis in couples and family counseling. He completed an APPIC-accredited pre-doctoral internship in psychology at The University of Iowa's University Counseling Service. David also earned his Master's in Community Counseling from Ball State University's CACREP-accredited counseling program. Prior to joining SCS, David served as a staff psychologist at The University of Iowa for two years, where he directed an embedded office at the College of Dentistry. He later worked in private practice in Peoria, IL, as well as taught undergraduate and graduate classes in psychology and counseling. David values inclusiveness and acceptance, and he adopts a holistic perspective to meet the needs of a diverse student population. David is committed to social justice and multicultural initiatives on and off campus. In his free time, David enjoys spending time with his wife, family, and friends, traveling, hiking and being outdoors, as well as reading.

  • Danielle Beasley

    Danielle Beasley, MSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

    Associate Director for Diversity, Equity and Outreach

    Danielle joined SCS as a Staff Counselor and Case Manager in the fall of 2016. She has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Illinois State University and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Her clinical experience includes working with individuals and families, helping them navigate trauma, grief, loss, anxiety, depression, relational conflict, self-harming behaviors, adjustment and stress management. Danielle believes that every client is the expert of their own story and her role is to partner with the client on their healing and wellness journey, providing safety, support and affirmation during the therapeutic process. She utilizes integrative and eclectic therapy techniques with an emphasis on relational, multicultural, strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches.

  • Gina Meyer

    Gina Meyer, Ph.D.

    Associate Director for Training

    2012, Western Michigan University

    Gina Meyer joined ISU as a full time staff psychologist in August of 2012. She has a Master’s degree in counseling from Michigan State University and a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Western Michigan University. Her special interest areas include woman’s issues, relational difficulties, identity development, body image concerns, anxiety, trauma/sexual assault, college adjustment issues, supervision and training, and LGBTQIA+ concerns. Gina utilizes an integrated approach to counseling that draws from person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and interpersonal perspectives. She also believes that it is important to attend to one’s multiple forms of diversity as well as the sociopolitical context in which one lives. Outside of work, Gina likes to spend time with family and friends, take her boxer Hope on walks, paint pottery, spend time at Lake Michigan, shop for antiques and jewelry, try different types of food, and explore new cities and towns.

  • Lisa Albaugh

    Lisa Albaugh, M.S., Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor

    Lisa came to SCS as a master’s practicum student in 2003 and is now at SCS providing individual therapy on a part-time basis. Lisa’s approach is client-centered with a somewhat cognitive-behavioral slant. Her clinical interests include: eating disorders, body image, religious and spiritual issues, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and career issues. During her time away from SCS, Lisa stays busy with her two sons and her husband.

  • Nicole E. Anderson

    Nicole E. Anderson, MSW, LCSW

    Staff Counselor/Case Manager

    2017, University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign

    Nicole joined Student Counseling Services as a Staff Counselor and Case Manager in the summer of 2021. She is an alum of Illinois State University, acquiring her Bachelor’s in social work from ISU. She earned her Master’s degree in social work from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Nicole enjoys working with people wherever they are in their journey of self. Nicole’s work is mostly guided by the Person-Centered and Cognitive Behavioral therapeutic approaches, while also integrating other useful approaches as necessary. She has done clinical work with individuals contending with many concerns, such as depression, anxiety, self-esteem and identity challenges, relational conflicts, substance use, spiritual and religious concerns, mood and personality disorders, justice system involvement, and homelessness. Nicole also has several years of case management experience within the Bloomington-Normal community.

  • Charles Titus Boudreaux

    2001, Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology, University of Minnesota

    Charles first came to the SCS as a pre-doctoral intern in 1996. Charles is a generalist, working from a Rogerian base and drawing heavily on cognitive-behavioral, family systems, feminist, multicultural, and developmental frameworks in his work with clients. Dr. Boudreaux has worked with a wide variety of client concerns, with a preference for individuals with interpersonal or family-related issues, chronic illness, survivors of sexual abuse, and student veterans. Charles loves to co-lead general therapy groups and enjoys working with couples when the opportunity arises. He has some expertise in career counseling, teaching, supervision, assessment, human resources, and information systems/computing.

    Charles currently coordinates the Information Systems, Group, Crisis On Call, and Assessment areas for the SCS. He also enjoys providing clinical supervision. Charles is happily married to a psychology professor and is the father of a delightful student at that “other university East of here,” currently majoring in music composition with a minor in biology. Charles is grateful that his parents now live in town.

  • Jason Duncan

    Jason Duncan, Psy.D.

    Staff Psychologist

    2021, Clinical Psychology, Marshall University

    Jason joined Student Counseling in Fall 2022 as a Staff Psychologist. He is originally from Tennessee and has spent most of his life in Appalachia. Jason graduated with his doctorate from Marshall University in 2021. He moved to Illinois 2020 where he completed both his doctoral internship and postdoctoral residency at Illinois State University. Jason is both a first-generation college graduate and a non-traditional college student. His clinical interest includes mood disorders, family issues, relationship concerns, social justice concerns, and substance use disorders. He uses an integrated approach to therapy, typically with a focus on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), within a multicultural framework. In his personal time, Jason enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, biking, serving his cats, and gaming.

  • Megan (Shiou-Feng) Gu

    Megan (Shiou-Feng) Gu, Ph.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist

    2008, Counseling Psychology, Purdue University

    Megan joined Student Counseling Services in Fall 2017. She is originally from Taiwan and received her PhD in Counseling Psychology from Purdue University. She enjoys working with college students because of their energy, openness, and resiliency. Her clinical interests include mood and generalized anxiety disorders, stress and adjustment issues, acculturation and coping particularly for international students, group psychotherapy, and supervision/training. She uses an integrative approach to psychotherapy, combining client-centered, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamics, and solution-focused within a multicultural framework. She can provide bilingual counseling (English and Mandarin Chinese). Away from work, Megan enjoys spending time with family, cooking, painting, and gardening.

  • Dean McCullough

    Dean McCullough, MSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

    Dean joined SCS as a staff counselor in the eventful spring of 2020. He has a Master's Degree in Social Work from Illinois State University and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Dean's clinical experience includes many years of working with young people and their families through a variety of presenting concerns. His clinical interests include depression, anxiety, family dynamics and substance related concerns. Dean's approach in therapy is to enable clients to use their own personal strengths and insight to find solutions to their obstacles. As a social worker Dean infuses social justice perspectives into his counseling approach and he has experience working with discriminated against populations. Dean views each counseling session as a moment for growth and empowerment.

  • Jojo Mitchell

    Jojo Mitchell, Ph.D.

    2020, University of Detroit Mercy

    Jojo joined Student Counseling Services in August of 2020. They completed their pre-doctoral internship at the University of Iowa and earned their degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Detroit Mercy. Some of their clinical interests include relational or family related concerns, eating disorders, LGBTQIA+ concerns and needs, and trauma. Jojo is passionate about social justice and multicultural initiatives and supervision / training. Their approach to counseling is integrative and incorporates interpersonal, psychodynamic, and ACT theories within a multicultural framework. Away from work, Jojo enjoys spending time with family, loves to cook, is an avid runner, and enjoys reading and creative writing.

  • Stacy Parton

    Stacy Parton, M.A., L.C.P.C., CCTP-II

    Staff Counselor

    1995, Illinois State University

    Stacy joined the Student Counseling Service staff Fall 2016. She completed her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Illinois State University in 1995. She has experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma, LGBTQIA individuals, families formed through foster care and adoption, as well as people experiencing depression, anxiety, and self-concept issues. Her approach to therapy incorporates person-centered, cognitive behavioral, trauma-focused, mindfulness, and EMDR therapies. Outside of work, Stacy enjoys spending time with her wife Lindsay and their fur babies, and hanging out with family and friends. She loves to knit and crochet for relaxation.
